“… It’s incredible that I could do that in that short amount of time … I had never drawn before. This experience has changed my life in a way I would never have thought possible.” - Lynn Y.
Student Drawings from ETIA 2025
“... when I found out that you suffer with chronic pain, I was like, okay, if Meg is doing this, I can do this too. That was a turning point, you know, to hear your experience and know I'm not alone in this kind of suffering. It was really powerful for me.” - Cyndi L.

“… I appreciated the skill building combined with community support, spiritual mindful work and touching on all the joy and difficulty/challenge of being an artist/making art…” - Bodhi K.

What You'll Walk Away With
Realistic drawing skills: The tools, techniques, and tricks to get what's in your head to come out on the page
Intuitive expression: Clearing the static between you and the deeper well of your expression, get into flow more easily
Creative joy: A creative practice that offers a space for growth, healing and self expression — a true refuge
Structure, support, accountability: A community of like-minded artists that encourage and support one another
Chops to capture the beauty you recognize in the world and a much stronger foundation for your paintings
Confidence through the ups and downs of playful experimentation that carries you to find your unique creative voice
Can I really learn to draw like that? Yes, you can!
Realistic rendering and intuitive expression are not as elusive as they seem. There are a few basic principles that you can return to again and again.
It's not complicated.
But it requires attention to your inner world as well as the technique.
Where other skills-focused drawing courses can range from boring to painful, this one speaks to the pieces other courses skip over.
We bring the principles of Mindfulness, self-compassion, and joyful play so that your inner critic doesn't stop you in your tracks.
You'll learn to build up your creative practice holistically, taking time to check in with your inner artist while building the chops you need to express what your intuition shows you.

“ I appreciated being able to follow along with Meg as she drew, to absorb the instruction as well as the tenderness, patience, care and appreciation she exhibits for drawing and sharing the joy of drawing with her students.”
- Claire D.
“There was so much that was valuable to me - learning new skills, community connection plus sharing in safe sacred soulful circle. I have learned to be with the inner critic gently and still get the work done.”
- Claudia M.
“Surprisingly thorough. We received so much more than I expected. I thought, gosh, I won't be able to do this and yet my drawing is so beautiful to me. I was dumbfounded that just by following your instructions and applying patience, I would be able to draw well.”
- Reb. B.

Meet Your Guide: Megan Saunders
I’m an artist based out of Nashville, TN. For the past few years my work has focused on the human form. In particular I aim to express the delicate strength and beauty that characterizes the human condition.
I've been a scientific illustrator for many years and my work has been featured in numerous journals as well as in teaching materials used at Duke University and the University of Toronto, from which I hold graduate degrees. My fine art paintings and drawings have been shown in galleries across the US.
I’m a certified meditation teacher with Suffering & Delight, a nonprofit that helps people with chronic pain and illness, and have been a Zen practitioner for over 20 years — first studying with a branch of Thich Naht Hahn’s Plum Village Sangha, and currently with Hobu Beata Chapman in No Walls Sangha.
I have had the pleasure of teaching art for almost 3 decades and I consider it an enormous privilege to help students find their unique creative voice while learning to ride the waves of the artistic process along the way.
